Time limited paths for new Permanent Resident streams for Canada for essential workers as well as recent graduates May 6 – November 5, 2021 or until full

The Canadian government announced unprecedented new permanent residence programs last week. These Programs are for certain applicant inside Canada and include: 1. Applicants with recent Canadian work experience in essential occupations 2. Applicants who are recent graduates from a Canadian post-secondary institution. 3. French speaking applicants. None of these programs include applicants destined for Quebec.

Worker categories:

  1. One year of past full-time Canadian work experience (1560 hours or equivalent part-time) within the past three years in a healthcare occupation listed in Annex A (includes dentist, doctors, therapist, social workers, nurses, dental assistants, home support workers, housekeepers and related occupations). Capped at the fist 20,000 applicants.

    OR

  2. One year of past full-time Canadian work experience (or equivalent part-time) within the past three years in an occupation listed in Annex B (includes service station attendants, store shelf stockers, sales occupations, contractors, many trades, retail, cleaners, butchers, teaching assistants. Capped at the first 30,000 applicants.

AND

  1. Had valid immigration status to work and at the time the application is submitted and when approved. Does not include self-employed other than for a medical doctor fee for service. Refugee claimants are not included.

  2. Results on an approved English or French language test (IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, TCF) minimum CLB 4 in each band and are no more than 2 years old

  3. Intention to live and work outside Quebec

  4. Applicant is not inadmissible

Recent graduate from Canadian Post Secondary Institution category: capped at the first 40,000 applicants.  

  1. Have completed, no earlier than January 2017; a program of study at a Canadian designated learning institution. The program must be either a degree from a program of at least 8 months, a skilled trade credential, or another diploma/certificate/attestation for a program or combination of programs of at least 2 years

  2. Have a valid work permit and working in a job in Canada at the time the application is submitted and approved. Does not include self-employed other than for a medical doctor fee for service.

  3. Results on an approved English or French language test (IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, TCF) minimum CLB 5 in each band and are no more than 2 years old

  4. Intention to live and work outside Quebec

  5. Applicant is not inadmissible.

French stream- no caps.
 
Try to book your language test and apply for your police clearances immediately.  Gather all supporting documents at this time.
